It's native to southern Texas and is the northern-most Cichlid. Turns out that it is a pretty common aquarium fish. It's pretty cool to catch one. They got incredibly small this year though with pools that are normally three to four feet deep getting down to one or two feet. Right now is the perfect time to be down there though. And remember there is a lot of Barton Creek out there. That Lost Creek area on the map just happens to be where i spend most of my time, although i did find a section recently that is new to me and just as beautiful.
