Wet. That about sums up the whole trip.
Vancouver Island had been rained on for 2 weeks straight before we got there and the rivers were overflowing. On our first day of fishing, 80 km winds were expected. We drove to the Salmon River with the guide and gave up when we saw it.
The next day, the weather was better but the rain had already done it’s damage. The only river we could fish on was the Oyster River which was almost right next to the town of Campbell River. I was able to get on Pink Salmon – which really shouldn’t have been in the river at that time. Anyway, I enjoyed the time outside and had some father/son time that I hadn’t had in years.
